Overview
The Bioethics Grand Rounds are offered quarterly, via Zoom Webinar. Each session features two nationally prominent speakers on bioethics topics at the forefront of national discussion, and are made available to healthcare providers, hospital ethics committees, and researchers throughout the state of Washington (and nationally). Each hour-long session is recorded and available to the general public via YouTube. In addition to an outreach function, these sessions provide exposure to ethical issues in clinical practice for medical students and residents within the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, as well as providing educational opportunities for ESFCOM faculty and staff, and faculty, staff and students throughout all campuses and colleges of WSU. Bioethics Grand Rounds are held quarterly, designed for outreach consistent with the Land-Grant Mission of WSU.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe current state of bioethics opinion on a variety of current topics.
  2. Identify the scope of moral considerations to current controversies in medicine and biomedical research.
  3. Apply moral concepts to current controversies in medicine and biomedical science.

Accreditation

The Washington State University (WSU) Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
