Overview

Our POCUS session focuses on teaching the practical application of using POCUS to perform various  evaluations on human models, including cardiac, pulmonary, renal, etc. 

POCUS (Point-of-care Ultrasound) recurring CME is intended to provide an environment where providers can practice and develop their POCUS skills under the direct supervision of POCUS trained providers. This includes image acquisition, as well as image interpretation of all common medicine areas of POCUS including cardiac, lung, abdomen, vascular and MSK.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Improve POCUS image acquisition skills
  2. Improve POCUS image interpretation skills
  3. Learn the various POCUS cardiac windows.
  4. Learn the normal POCUS pulmonary exam.
  5. Learn the techniques to evaluate the renal system.
  6. Learn to evaluate for a lower extremity DVT.

Accreditation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Medicine. The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity meets the criteria for up to 2.50 hours of Category I CME credit to satisfy the re-licensure requirements of the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission.
