The WSU College of Medicine Office of Faculty Development and Continuing Education excited to partner with the new Pediatrics Residency Program! This will be an excellent opportunity for you to learn about the impact of an alliance in the clinical learning space and its relevance to our work with Pediatrics residents. During this 1-hour session, attendees will walk away with 5 methods to quickly form and maintain a positive learning alliance.

All core faculty, community preceptors, and interprofessional team members are invited.

The WSU Faculty Development Unit of the Office for Faculty Affairs and Continuing Professional Development designs and delivers up-to-date content in medical education topics for clinicians who have trainees in clinical environments. The aim of these sessions is to promote active learning and engagement, fostering a community of faculty as educators, and improving the overall health of our patients and communities.

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate methods for teaching learners in clinical environments.
  2. Demonstrate methods for assessing learners in clinical environments.
  3. Explain the role of the resident/preceptor alliance in the clinical learning environment.
  4. Outline the steps to quickly form and maintain a learning alliance.
  5. Articulate your approach to meet the needs of the resident and the team as appropriate.
