Overview

This is the final of four stand-alone virtual workshops in the Systematic Review Series, hosted by the WSU College of Medicine’s Collaboration for Interprofessional Health Education Research & Scholarship (CIPHERS) initiative! This workshop will cover the first three workshops, discuss systematic and scoping reviews, reporting results of different types of reviews, and go over data synthesis and writing the results for reviews.

This 4-part workshop series will introduce participants to systematic reviews, including an introduction to types of reviews, how to complete a review, tools to help reviewers including how to register and complete reviews, and publication standards.

  1. Compare and contrast data extraction for systematic reviews and scoping reviews
  2. Discuss strategic differences when reporting results for different review types (tables and narrative summaries)
  3. Provide an overview of quality and bias assessment resources for scholars/researchers conducting evidence synthesis
  4. Describe approaches to data synthesis and writing the results and discussion sections of reviews
