Overview

The primary focus of this presentation will be the value of identifying and treating hearing loss in the adult population. Healthcare providers will be provided with education on the importance of assessing and evaluating treatment options for their patients to ensure good long-term health across the lifespan. The connection between hearing loss and cognitive health/decline and the value of early intervention will also be discussed.

This series offers lectures in four main categories:

  1. Self-development

  2. Practice management

  3. Patient/community services

  4. Second opinion case presentations

The objective is to provide a dedicated time for effective information exchange with other health professionals to further improve patient care and personal well-being. The lecture series also provides an opportunity for participants to update current understanding of medical-based topics as well as to expand their knowledge base outside of their immediate fields.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify possible hearing loss in the clinical setting.
  2. Understand the connection between hearing loss and cognitive health.
  3. Identify possible sudden hearing loss and the next steps for treatment.
