Overview
This recorded session will provide participants with information about how to leverage the social media platform Twitter to advance their career. The Office of Faculty Development designs and delivers up-to-date content in medical education topics for clinicians who have trainees in clinical environments. The aim of these sessions is to promote active learning and engagement, fostering a community of faculty as educators, and improving the overall health of our patients and communities. 


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Implement career development practices in professional and leadership roles
  2. Construct career development pathways to support short and long term professional goals
  3. Integrate best practices in formal and informal leadership roles
  4. Identify benefits and common pitfalls of engaging with social media as a professional.
  5. Learn the basics of Twitter and create your own professional Twitter account.
  6. Understand how Twitter can be used as a form of professional development.
  7. Develop a strategy for engaging on Twitter.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Medicine. Elson S.
