Overview

This eCourse is designed for faculty who teach medical students in classrooms, focusing on cultivating compassionate learning environments and minimizing educational trauma. By the end of the course, participants will be able to describe educational trauma, identify its features in the learning environment, and employ effective tactics to interrupt, recover from, and mitigate its impact.

Through real-life case studies, reflective teaching practices, and trauma-informed strategies, educators will learn how to create inclusive and supportive settings that promote emotional safety and transformative learning. Ideal for educators seeking to enhance their teaching methods and support student well-being, this course offers practical tools and insights for fostering a positive educational experience.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe educational trauma.
  2. Identify the features of educational trauma in the learning environment.
  3. Employ tactics to interrupt, recover from, and mitigate emotional trauma.
