Overview
In this interactive 45-minute workshop we will provide an overview of the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practices (HSSOBP) when using task trainers when facilitating workshops. A task trainer is defined as "A device designed to train in just the key elements of the procedure or skill being learned, such as lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion, central line insertion or part of a total system, for example, ECG simulator (Center for Immersive and Simulation Based Learning [CISL] & Levine et al)."

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Summarize the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP) regarding facilitation with task-trainers
  2. Integrate Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP) facilitation concepts when teaching sessions with task trainers.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
